The other day, I sat by the fire,
Counting it’s sleazy flames and cried
You may have the flesh
But nay for the soul.
You may fleece with elysian visions
Yet you fill my nights with ghoulish Gore. Don’t you know what she used To call me? An astral seeker set for Brighter things.
Yet you outshine all, devour India.
O Maa! I conspire with oblivion daily to Escape myself.
I try to shut out everyone because I See in their eyes, what I battle to Forget!
The flames swerve and lo!
It’s catching upto me.
I am an astral seeker no more!
For I sear,
In this lake of hollowness.
Alighieri’s frozen Cocytus flows
From eyes of multitudes here.
Yet, I will trudge to the summit
To cherish the brighter things.

To my fellow WordPress Bloggers, please take note that due to the restrictions of the theme which makes the capitalization go haywire, the poem is best read on unveiled rhythms than the wordpress app reader. Happy reading. 💮
